Thursday Swim & Packing

Thursday night was swimming, per the usual. We all got there at our scheduled time which is 7:15 p.m. Of course all of the swimming lessons were still going on. We asked one of the guys who was teaching a lesson about when he would be finished. He was a jerk and told us that we needed to stop being selfish for the children. I am sorry, I pay to be a member and I don’t care who is in the pool. We have our time slot. Then a very nice lifeguard came over and we discussed starting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday so there are no further issues. We all agreed and said that would be good.

Our total yards were 3,200. There was an “A” and “B” workout. Same yards, just different time intervals. My lane did the “A” workout and actually kept up on each interval. A few of the guys told me I was flying and that they were impressed. I had everyone in my lane by at least 10 seconds per interval. I was keeping on the other lane’s toes, too. We did a lot of 100’s and 50’s. I think the lowest time for the 50’s was :45 and the lowest for the 100’s was around 1:45. My average pace varied between 1:33-1:34 per 100 yards. That’s pretty damn fast (for me)! I was pretty happy to have a great swim before vacation. If I am already able to hold onto the faster swimmers now, I can’t wait to see where I am with all of my Ironman training.  IMG_2164

I rushed home after swimming because I needed to start packing for Seattle!

Before I started packing I made a smoothie with my favorite ingredients. PB2 chocolate peanut butter, honey, cinnamon, plain greek yogurt, a little bit of milk, and frozen bananas. This has been my smoothie of choice lately. I have been using my sister’s NutriBullet. It’s so much easier to use than my Vitamix. I know, the horror! IMG_2166

After the smoothie it was time for packing. I made sure to take a few pictures of my awesome new bag from Live Well 360. They were running a contest on Instagram with Affirmats yoga mats for a free yoga mat. All you had to do was take a picture of your Live Well 360 bag packed up. I took a photograph with my swim/gym stuff. I planned on taking a travel one during my time in Seattle, too. I have the Luxx bag in black.

I always get anxiety before traveling. I hate packing. I usually over-pack. I also realized I was going to miss Mark very much. I never travel without him. He wasn’t able to come on this trip due to no more vacation days at work. We were lucky we were able to book my whole trip on hotel and airline points, though. That’s all thanks to Mark’s travel for work.

We probably went to bed at 11:00 p.m. or so. We set our alarms for 4:50 a.m. Ugh! Have I mentioned I am not a morning person?
